MARY, MOTHER OF GOD AND HER QUEENSHIP

Mother of God? Who could ever give birth to God? Incomprehensible.
...Wait a minute!!!

Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ( Mt 1:18-25).
Jesus Christ is God (Jn 20:28).
Therefore, Mary is the Mother of God.

Jesus Christ's origins are both divine and human. His nature is of twofold. He is both divine and human. The Word became flesh, full of grace and truth, and lived among us(Jn 1:14).

If the humanity of Jesus Christ has been denied (Jn 8:12-59) and refused to be confessed (2 Jn 7), how much more Mary, Mother of God be denied?
The divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ was fully present in the womb of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit.
So long as one can't separate Christ's divinity from His humanity, so too, one can't separate Mary from the Son's divinity. She is the Mother of God.

What of her Queenship?
Mary is not God neither is she a god. She is not worshipped. She is honoured. Those in heaven are not "Gods" except the Most Holy Trinity i.e., the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit--Who is but ONE GOD not Three "GODS"; Three Persons in One God.
Firstly She is Queen "through Him,
with Him, and subordinate to Him." Her Queenship is basically a sharing in the royalty of her Son She is the Mother of the Son of God, who is the messianic King. Mary is the Mother of Christ, the Word incarnate. ... "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David; and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end." (Lk1:32-33) ... Elizabeth greeted the Blessed Virgin, pregnant with Jesus, as "the Mother of my Lord." (Lk 1:41-43)
Secondly, Her Queenship is tired to Her glorious Assumption to heaven. She is Queen of Heaven (ref. Rev 12:1-18). She is not a god. The "queen of heaven" in Jer 7:18 referred to a god worshipped by the Israelites. Mary is the Mother of God.

If Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords (Rev 19:26), then Her Mother is the Queen (Rev12:1-18).
If Jesus is the New Adam, then Her Mother is the New Eve.
If Jesus is God, then Her mother is the Mother of God.

To conclude with, in the words of Oscar Lukefahr..."When we honour Mary as Mother of God, we are actually professing our belief that Jesus is truly God. We are not saying that Mary came before God. Rather the Second Person of the Trinity, who existed from all eternity, 'became flesh and lived among us' (Jn1:14)

THE COMMUNION OF SAINTS

In the ninth articles of faith, the second clause states: “I believe in the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints.”

This Communion of Saints comprises of three groups of people:
The Triumphant Church: Those who have washed their cloths in the blood of the lamb, simply put, those in heaven ( cf. Revelation 7:14 ; 22:14) ;
The Militant Church: Those of us on earth striving as soldiers of Christ, to be found worthy when the Lord returns;
The Suffering Church: Those who have died before us and are waiting to be admitted into heaven. This includes those in purgatory.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines “Purgatory as a "purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven," which is experienced by those "who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified" (CCC 1030). It notes that "this final purification of the elect . . . is entirely different from the punishment of the damned" (CCC 1031). The purification is necessary because, as Scripture teaches, nothing unclean will enter the presence of God in heaven (Rev. 21:27) and, while we may die with our mortal sins forgiven, there can still be many impurities in us, specifically venial sins and the temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven.

As a Communion of Saints, the various categories of the church stated above intercede for each other.
The Triumphant Church intercedes for both the Militant Church and the Suffering Church.
The Militant Church intercedes only for the Suffering Church. The Suffering Church cannot but to rely on the intercessions of the other two.  In other words, there is spiritual solidarity which binds together the faithful on earth, the souls in purgatory and the saints in heaven in the organic unity of the same mystical body under Christ its head.

Bible References:
Intercession by the angels: Zech 1:12-16; Rom 8:38; 1 Cor 12:26; Josh 5:13-15; 1 Sam 28:3ff; Mt 22:30;
Purgatory: Mt. 5:24-25,  I Cor 3:11-15, I Pt 3:19

Praying for the dead:
Old Testament
“On the next day, as by that time it had become necessary, Judas and his men went to take up the bodies of the fallen and to bring them back to lie with their kinsmen in the sepulchres of their fathers. Then under the tunic of every one of the dead they found sacred tokens of the idols of Jam′nia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear. And it became clear to all that this was why these men had fallen. So they all blessed the ways of the Lord, the righteous Judge, who reveals the things that are hidden; and they turned to prayer, beseeching that the sin which had been committed might be wholly blotted out. And the noble Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had fallen. He also took up a collection, man by man, to the amount of two thousand drachmas of silver, and sent it to Jerusalem to provide for a sin offering. In doing this he acted very well and honorably, taking account of the resurrection. For if he were not expecting that those who had fallen would rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore he made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin.”  (2 Maccabees 12:39-45).
Rejecting the inspiration and canonicity of II Maccabees does not negate its historical value. Maccabees aids us in knowing, purely from an historical perspective at the very least, the Jews believed in praying and making atonement for the dead shortly before the advent of Christ. This is the faith in which Jesus and the apostles were raised…”says Apologist Tim Staples.

New Testament

St Paul said this prayer:
“The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus, you know very well.” (2 Tim 1:18)

One body but many parts (cf. 1 Cor 12:12-27) so, also each part is needed that some might be saved. Certainly, not all will be saved.
The Militant Church prays for the dead and those in purgatory. Even a day has been set aside to pray for all souls on the Liturgical Calendar (Nov 2). She also prays every time she celebrates Holy Mass and prays the Liturgy of the Hours, Likewise after Angelus and after meals. The prayers express hope that God will free the person who has died from any burden of sin and prepare a place for him or her in heaven.

In conclusion, those in purgatory are infallibly saved. When you pray for the dead, you serve as a catalyst to speed up there stay in purgatory and to enter heaven. It is also our duty in this year of mercy to pray for the living and the dead.

THREE HARD TRUTHS ABOUT MARY.

When will you stop the insult and degrade of Mary, Mother of God?

All generation  will call Mother Mary  blessed (Lk 1:48).

Why was she assumed to the glories of heaven?

She was holy and immaculate
As Scripture says:
“because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.”
PS 16:10

How many people were greeted by an angel this way: “Hail, full of grace!!”?  Lk 1:28

Only Mary, Mother of God.

THE ASCENSION OF JESUS CHRIST VRS. THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

The Ascension of Jesus and the Assumption of Mary basically contains the same truth that Jesus and Mary were both TAKEN UP to heaven body and soul.

The essential difference between the two doctrines is that Jesus Christ ascended to heaven by his own power after he had successfully completed his earthly mission. In the case of Mary, she was taken up into the glories of heaven soul and body by the power of God. This reward was as a result of her close association with God in his plan of salvation.

Jesus ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives, 40 days after his resurrection from the dead ( Acts 1:6-11). His own Apostles witnessed the glorious spectacle. What of Mary, who witnessed it? This was a singular privilege given to her.

The Sacred Scriptures records some individuals who were also taken up to heaven because of their close relationship with God.  "Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven" (2 Kings 2:11) and for Enoch "God took him" (Genesis 5:24). How come that of Mary did not find a place in the Sacred Scriptures?

This Feast of the Assumption is celebrated every year on the 15th of August. This was promulgated in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. This dogma says, “That the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.”

Mary is described as THE ARK OF THE COVENANT  in the litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The ARK is seen as a symbol of Mary and the entry of the Ark into Jerusalem prefigures Mary’s entry into heaven. Psalm 132:8 reads “ARISE, O LORD, AND ENTER YOUR RESTING PLACE, ALONG  WITH THE ARK,...” Our resting place is heaven. The Ark represents Mary whose praises are sung with the Lord in the temple and in another place, Scripture says "because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay."(PS 16:10). The teachings of the New Testament is that all believers in Christ will be raised from the dead and taken bodily to heaven. (Rom. 5:15, 1 Cor 15:21-26,54-67)

In conclusion,  the main reason for belief among early Christians in Mary’s Assumption was the fact that she was Mother of Jesus Christ. Christians found it difficult to imagine that the woman who had borne the sacred body of Jesus Christ could suffer corruption and dissolution.

Mary, blessed among women …. Pray for us!!!
